Good news out the door for Monday morning – it won’t be as cold as the last two mornings. The low hit 19 Saturday and sank to 11 Sunday. It hadn’t been below 20 in Indy since the first four days of February.
A warm front moves through Indiana this morning. Temps will be above average for a grand total of one day this week, and today’s the day. Milder air will be brought in via a steady southerly wind that may gust to 30-40 mph by afternoon.
The chance for showers (and even some thunderstorms) will start after about 1pm in the western part of the state, including Lafayette. There’s a chance after about 3pm in Indy, and should spread statewide into Muncie and Richmond by 5pm. Rain is likely this evening, and could total up to three-quarters of an inch before it ends sometime around, or a little after midnight.
Snow showers are then possible for the morning commute Tuesday. Any accumulation would be minor. The biggest travel trouble this week will likely come from a storm spanning the second half of Thursday into Friday morning. It has the potential to produce snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain.
