Another Super Storm?

February 6, 2010

SUNDAY MIDDAY UPDATE:  The storm is still on track.  Snow could begin Monday evening, but won’t be heavy until after midnight going into Tuesday.  It will like affect both rush hours and everything in between on Tuesday.

A Winter Storm Watch is in effect, and you can see where on the Indiana map below, via Paul Poteet Dot Com.

Another 4-8 inches is possible after 6-9 inches fell across parts of Central Indiana Friday.

Blowing and drifting could be a problem again.  Winds are forecast to gust near 30-40mph.  It’s still two days away, so as always, things could change.  Just the same, Mister Weatherman isn’t booking appointments Tuesday.

If you’re reading this under the Super Sun in Miami, here’s what’s waiting for you Back Home Again In Indiana:

A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL ORGANIZE OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS ON
SUNDAY AND MOVE EAST...SPREADING SNOWFALL INTO THE REGION MONDAY
NIGHT. SNOW MAY POTENTIALLY BECOME HEAVY ON TUESDAY AND PERSIST
INTO TUESDAY NIGHT BEFORE TAPERING TO SNOW SHOWERS WEDNESDAY
MORNING.

SOME UNCERTAINTY REMAINS REGARDING THE TRACK OF THIS SYSTEM...
WHICH COULD HAVE A SUBSTANTIAL IMPACT ON FORECAST SNOWFALL. SOME
AREAS MAY SEE SNOWFALL IN EXCESS OF 6 INCHES BY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

GUSTY WINDS WILL ALSO ACCOMPANY THIS SYSTEM...ESPECIALLY TUESDAY
NIGHT...CAUSING CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING OF ANY SNOW THAT
FALLS.
