The original idea of this post (“Where is PP”) was to embed a Google calendar of upcoming events I was a part of. (Bad sentence construction.) It’s obviously taken a turn, thanks to your comments on the post. So: Just in case you haven’t already written and heard from me via email, or Facebook, or Twitter, or UStream, I will give you the short story. Channel 6 let me know in August that I was being taken off their morning show and moved to weekends. After considering my options, I decided to leave, and gave notice a few days after the schedule change began.
If you have emailed me and haven’t received a response yet–you will. I’m still a few days behind on that. It’s easier to stay on top of the social networks since I’m on them all the time. For those who may not know, I’m on the web at http://www.paulpoteet.com, and from there you can find links to me on Twitter, Facebook, WZPL, WQME, and WXXC. I’m still doing everything else I was doing, and am even playing around with a studio webcam on Live Stream, for those who really want to still “watch” me in the morning! If you’re with me in these places, you’ll know the places I’ll be in next.
BTW, since it is an FAQ in the hundreds of responses I’ve read: My buddy Tom will be fine. We talk or email every day. He’s a clever talent, and I look forward to working with him again. Because he owes me money.

Paul~!!!!! Where are you??? You and your little buddy Tom Davis were honestly the only reason I watched RTV-6 in the mornings. Don’t get me wrong, I think Crystal Wicker is HOT in a Gothic sort of way. Especially when she wears dark cloths.
What about you and Crystal doing the weather together? With you, it’s hard for me to watch the liberally slanted news on RTV-6.
WOW! I have watched you since you were on the Lafayette news, what a great loss. All things for a reason and I am sure we will see you surface soon. In the meantime though, I have switched to CNN in the morning.
I only started watching wrtv after finding Paul on WXXC Radio. I found myself tuning to that station to hear his banter doing the weather. Then went to channel 6 to see him. I never liked Rtv6 but watched it every morning because of Paul. When Crystal Wicker showed up I said it wouldn't be long before Paul would be gone. Once again RTV6 isn't worth watching, so I don't since I realized Paul wasn't coming back. I do still tune into WXXC at 7:30 and 8:30 to hear Paul. But have noticed that those spots seem to be much shorter now. Hope WXXC doesn't do something stupid next. Gotta go email channel 6.
OK…. I don't EVER comment on these things. And no offense to Crystal Whicker, BUT I miss you, Paul Poteet. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. I am done watching channel 6 in the morning UNLESS Paul Poteet is back. Seriously. I am done.
I really don't like the high pitched-fakey voice of Ms. Wicker…. would rather listen to Paul.

You should have your own show. I will not be watching channel 6 morning news anymore. What were they thinking? You made the news and weather so much fun. I really hate that you are not there anymore. Nobody seems to be very happy behind thier forced smiles!!
My husband and I could not believe it, when we found out what happened to Paul. He was the morning news. Grace, Tom and Paul were the best news team we had ever seen. Without Paul we have stopped watching, and our now watching channel 8. Please tell us when you get on another show.
I don't know what station to watch now…I watched Channel 6 because of Paul and Toml and the fun they provided. I think Channel 6 made a Big mistake! Will have to channel search for awhile, because I do like GMA that follows the GMA-IN, and I just switched to it because of watiching channel 6, I do not like channel 13 and the Today show–because it seems like it goes on forever,..could almost be called Tomorrow show by the time it ends, and Channel 8 morning new is boring! Paul we were wondering what happened to you. We have started are mornings with you for years. We miss not having you on there. Channel 6 made a poor decision moving you to another time. Hopefully we will see you on another station real soon. The Earnest from Fairmount In.
All I can say is "ditto" to the many comments already made. You have been the bright star that drew us to Channel 6 news in the mornings… Change is inevitable but not always for the good. With the ups and downs in life all around, you were the "comfort food" that warmed the soul. We too are now looking elsewhere…mornings are just not the same! Keep us posted. I am among the people who thought you’d gone on vacation…but sadly you haven’t. Every morning I would think, ‘I have to go online and find out what happened to Paul’. So this a.m. I took some action and am not happy.

Whewwwwwwwwwww, finally getting somewhere. I moved here 4 years ago from Cleveland and woke up with you and Grace and there was another gentlemen anchor who sense than have left and now the other young man took his place. But Paul, it was a joy turning you on in the morning and hearing the weather. Sorry to hear of your departure but I pray for the good. I and my family had so wonder what happen to you Mr.Paul Poteet ,I ask my dad and he did’nt know so I got on here t ofind out and am very sad that I don’t get to hear you ,Grace and Tom ,I’m 57 and have been watching news 6 for many years ,after I could no longer work out of the home and started watching my grand daughter which comes at 6:30 am I would get up early just to hear what you 3 had to saywith Grace in the middle of you and Tom with her smile and you both making my day start off with a smile ,I could go on BUT all I will say is a GREAT LOSS for Good Morning Indiana 6 new there loss and all of us that watch. I agree with Kathy “Shame on channel 6″ I too miss you in the mornings. I was formerly a channel 8 day break viewer until a few years ago and started watching 6 news in the morning. You made the show, it was fun and interesting.. I thought that you were out due to illness or on a vacation. Thought I would check the website and see what happened to your smiling face. I am now going to have to find a new morning news channel… I am not happy with 6 without you… Thanks and good luck in your future endeavors.

As your blog comments indicate, you brought joy and laughter to our mornings for years. As viewers become younger, there appears to be a demand for a pretty face with little concern for the broadcaster’s ability to communicate with its audience. I hope you return to morning television soon!
I am also a big Paul Poteet fan and am very unhappy with Channel 6..!! They are undeserving of good ones like you. They treated Bob McClain badly and now Paul!?!? Do they want to stay in last place in the ratings forever ? I hope they stay in last place and lose advserting money because of their shameful treatment of longtime loyal people like Paul and Bob. There are probably others you could tell us about.
I had a lot of things going on the time you left Channel 6 and missed the show announcing your departure. After several mornings of not seeing you, I wanted to find out what happened so I searched the web to find my answer. I really hate it that you’re no longer on the show. You made my mornings. Listening to you laugh and having fun with everyone on the show just started my mornings off right. Thanks for the laughter.

Bummer!! I have been out of state for a bit and just assumed Paulwas on vacation and was so sorry to hear that you were “moved” to weekends. Channel 6 had a great threesome and didn’t have sense enough to know it. I watched you when you were here in Lafayette and was glad to realize you didn’t move out of the area when you moved from Channel l8. Hope to see you back on the air soon.
Channel 6 seems to always find a way to screw it up. Paul was the best thing they had going, on to 8 or 13.

I agree, I hate the Indihana phrase!! It was annoying at first, now it’s nauseating. No more morning news for me. I listen to the radio on the way to work.
I was forced to watch channel 6 news because that’s what my wife likes to watch in the mornings. The reason it annoyed me so much was I couldn’t get over Grace and Dan’s fake exhuberance and over-exagerated facial expressions when they read the news. But I did enjoy watching you and Tom. Sorry to see you go, but I will have to settle for Crystal’s hot body instead.

Paul, My husband and I have watched you do the weather for a long time and we have enjoyed it very much. You put “happy” in the weather, especially when it’s not such a good forecast. You were one of the only reasons we watched RTV6, especially when they brought in that new news team that think they are something special. To replace you with Crystal Wicker?! We are appalled and will not be watching it any longer RTV6! She is no weather person! Probably because they can pay her less! We just got this news from our daughter and I will be listening to you on 99.5 in the mornings. I certainly hope to see you on another local channel soon! We love you! Keep up the good work!

Funny how WRTV always seems to do something stupid. Getting rid of Ray Cortopassi was a huge mistake too. They should have left well-enough alone. I wasn’t watching RTV6 much in the morning, because I can’t stand that bobble-head Grace with her wierd facial expressions and those gasps between sentences. And now, putting her with that irritating Crystal Wicker is much like being served a plate of peas. Just too hard to swallow. Oh well. At least my thumb will start getting a good workout as I channel surf!
Hi Paul, I am still surprised at Channel 6! Why would they ruin such a good a.m. show? You are so witty…you made me laugh everyday and helped me get in a good mood before I went and faced my daily responsibilities. I’m glad to still be able to listen to you in the morning with Smiley on my way to work! I too have switched morning shows. Good riddens channel 6!
Paul, I was so disappointed to NOT see you on GMI. I don’t know what they were thinking…or IF they were thinking. You made me laugh, which is hard to do at 5:30 in the morning! Ya know, another rather famous former weatherman from Indianapolis now how his own late-night show. Perhaps you’ve heard of him…?
At any rate, I know listen to you on WQME (love their music – digging Revelation Song by PCD right now), so I get my Paul fix in the morning. But I miss you and Tom and your witty banter.

Haven’t watched RTV6 since I found out you left. There ratings should really go down and rightly so! You made me laugh early every morning and started my day off with a smile. Now all they have on 6 is a bunch of stuck ups! I wish you all the best in the future and hope to see you on another weather station soon!!

I just found out Paul isnt on WRTV either anymore, I only watched WRTV to see Paul not only did I depend on his forecast and it was accurate, he was such a joy to listen to and watch he really connected to viewers! he made me laugh. I’m not a viewer anymore because Paul isnt there. I’ll get my forecasts from him this way……………WRTV has really lost a valuable asset.

WRTV must be run by idiots. You and Tom Davis are the real deal! Grace, Dan and Crystal are fake, plastic, irritating and not really worth watching. Their cartoon personalities make me want to change the channel. Since I doubt that they are considering any voice dub overs for Crystal or anchoring Grace’s head to her neck or injecting her face with plaster to tone down the facial expressions, I will have to tune in long enough to see what Tom is up to and then turn off the set. And to think that they thought Ms Wicker could replace you! She has nothing to offer and having her inhale helium before each forcast as she speaks does not make her any more entertaining, she is too tall to pass as a munchkin.
Paul, Paul, Paul . . . say it isn’t so!! Please let us know as soon as you find a new TV home. WRTV doesn’t deserve your talents. When you find a new place to land, take Tom with you . . . you guys were awesome together!
Maybe Paul can use all of his time now to focus on his comedy career and WRTV can hire a weather person who is focused more on forecasting than telling lame jokes with a smug little traffic kid in his daddy’s suit. Watching Grace is like having Mr. Rodgers reading you the news and “Scary Dan” needs to not always over-emphasize every detail. The whole morning show is a train wreck and letting Paul go is just the beginning to the clean-up!
Personally I like to see alittle character and personalitly! Rather than a bunch of talking heads! Paul, you are missed! This guy doesn’t know what he is talking about!!

The highlight of my day was watching you on the Noon News on RTV6 because you were always so upbeat, funny and REAL!. I was saddened when I called the station and they said you wouldn’t be back. Definitely the “management” at RTV6 must have other non-important things on their minds for the City of Indianapolis and the surrounding area. I’m sure they’re not good. Hopefully, another market in the Indianapolis area will make a smart decision to hire you. YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Channel Six News in the morning is W-E-A-K, since Paul and Tom are not together. It was a warm morning news show, now dull to the wire. I don’t even watch them any more. Grace is to homely for me and the entire Indy area. Channel Six you need to boost your ratings bring Paul BACK today. Hopefully, whoever made the decision to cut Paul has been fired by now!

Paul, Channel 6 has made a giant mistake. You, Grace Trahan and Tom Davis had a “chemistry” that has just evaporated, without you in the picture. The channel 6 morning news and weather WAS truly the best of the networks, but no more. The other stations don’t even come close. You were the catalyst in making the morning news and weather so fun to watch. I listen to you on radio but do hope you will return to tv soon. I used to wonder how on earth writers could create such good scripts for you but now I realize YOU were doing the writing and impromptu quips yourself. I won’t watch WRTV 6 without you on there. I’ve switched to 13, which is painful enough but WRTV 6 is stupid. While Crystal Wicker is sweet, she is not funny at all!!

I think we should use “Call 6 For Help” to try to get Paul back on the morning news. I can just see Rafeal Sanchez interviewing WRTV’s management in the parking lot about how they have screwed their viewers over…

WRTV made a HUGE mistake letting you go. You were the ONLY reason I watched the Channel 6 News and now that you are gone, I guess I will just have to find another morning news. I have been working a lot of late nights since July so I havent been able to watch the morning news much but that is changing now.
I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason. You ARE Indiana’s BEST weatherman and I am sure something even better will come along.
