David Letterman BeardThe writers’ strike has had no effect on me since I don’t have any.  But I am contemplating a beard just to try and catch the Letterman/Conan vibe.  You’d think in all the coverage of the Return Of The Late Night Talk Show story on Good Morning America there’d be more Kimmel than Leno…however…not so much.  It’s OK Jimmy.  Keep your chin up.  (And shaven.)

An interesting segment on WZPL this morning, and you, savvy internet user, had the best chance of hearing it.  Brief tech diff’s knocked the broadcast signal off the air, but the show continued via the internet.  This always loosens Smiley’s tongue—even more than normal.  We talked Radio Trash, but kept it FCC-friendly.  He’s playing that Paralyzed song by Finger Eleven right now.  I like it, but come on, have you looked at the lyrics?

Meanwhile, producer Chris from Abdul’s show on NewsTalk1430 had his car blow up real good on the way into work.  Nothing like car trouble on a single digit morning.  Go to chris-spangle.com and boost his self-esteem with random clicks, would ya?

I told Brian Free on WXXC this morning about a Gallup Poll that strikes me as odd.  Happy with your life?  84% of Americans say they are.  And then 70% say, presumably in almost the same breath, they are not happy with the country’s direction.  So, I guess most of us think we have it together, and no one else does.  Check!

And an off-air highlight this morning came when I shared some quality telephone moments with Mr. Sipes’ oft-discussed mother from the WMDH Morning Show with Jon and Kelly. OK, now I see where it all started Jon!
